An Introduction

The Source Testing Association (STA) is a non-profit making technical trade association which was established in 1995 and has a corporate membership of over 200 companies from process operators, regulators, equipment suppliers and test laboratories.

 


The STA is committed to the advancement of the science and practice of emission monitoring and to develop and maintain a high quality of service to customers. All members are required to sign up to a strict code of conduct, including safety procedures.

At Cirrus we benefit from our membership of the STA by keeping up to date with new legislation, British Standards, Environment Agency Guidance and also current concerns being raised by colleagues across the industry of stack emission monitoring.
The STA represent emission monitoring laboratories in regular discussions with the regulatory bodies including United Kingdom Accreditation Services and the Environment Agency.

Our emission monitoring team is led by an experienced and qualified Technical Manager, who is responsible for encouraging the development of other team members. This is done through on site experience as well as training courses provided by the STA and certification to the Environment Agency’s MCerts Scheme.
